Chattahoochee River

Helen in Georgia is a gorgeous little town in the German building style. During the summer it can be very hot. That's why many people enjoy the tube rides at several Water Parks along the Chattahoochee River.

Chattahoochee River, GA

This river runs through Helen which is a mountain town in northeast Georgia, where the Smoky Mountains are. It's known for its Bavarian-style buildings. They have river rafting and trout fishing and really beautiful waterfalls named Anna Ruby and Raven Cliff waterfalls.

Helen in Georgia

In the Appalachian Foothills in Northern Georgia we find Helen, a beautiful little town. Because of it's climate and the lovely smooth hills this felt like home for German/Bavarian settlers in the 1800s. Helen is one of the most visited towns because it looks so different, plus they offer white water rafting which is fun for young and older people.

Peace on the Lake

There is so much to view on the lake with all the reflections of the sky and the trees, plus the large bed of sea-roses. But there is a wonderful peace in this scene, no wind, no sound, just quietness. It was a pleasure to be part of it.

Near Lone Pine, California

When traveling the desert, there is a time when you long for green trees with lovely shades and life giving meadows. This we found on Route 395 near Lone Pine in California. Route 395 runs along the Western side of the Death Valley.

Horses in Lone Pine, California

These horses are enjoying the good life. Beautiful warm sunshine, food right beneath their feet and water in the creek. And all this along the foot hills of the Mt. Whitney Range. Who can ask for more?

Welcome to Lone Pine

We enjoyed the “Welcome” by those two red fire engines. It was a lovely morning. The Sierra Nevada presented itself in a beautiful light with dark shadows. But again Mt. McKinley was not visible. It's gotta be one of those peaks.

Morning in Keeler

Keeler is located on the East shore of Owens Lake on Hwy 136. There were times when Keeler was a bustling little town that has lost its industry and got caught in the changing times of California.

The S Grade Road

This road has lots of sharp S curves and is frequented by bikers for racing up and down the Palomar Mountain in Southern California. It's exciting to see all the Ducatis and Kawasakis racing up the mountain.

Pauma Valley in CA

This valley is full of orange groves and way up the hills they are planting Hass Avocado Trees. Those are excellent in flavor and price.

This valley is an oasis in the dry mountain area with lots of Orange and Avocado Groves. Following Hwy 76, driving up to the Palomar Mountain Observatory where the famous Hale Telescope is.

Sunny Morning at the Pier

It's just after 7:00 o'clock in the morning and there are already several surfers in the water. This is at Oceanside Pier in California. Oceanside is a city between Fort Pendleton and Carlsbad along the Interstate 5 corridor. Oceanside has been building up tremendously during the last few years. It's getting pretty around here.

Oceanside Beach

Oceanside Beach is another one of those typical wide California beaches. You never run out of space and it's never crowded. You can walk for miles or sometimes drive with your car. There are fire rings, a life guard station, a boat and a plane in the distance. And a surfer and seagulls on the left. The shadows are from large port buildings behind me. What a great time to watch the sunset.
